We’ve known for about four months that genuine Land Rover parts have been almost impossible to source.
On Friday the UK Client Care Director for Land Rover admitted that there were 10,000 cars waiting for parts in the UK and 5,000 of these vehicles were off the road because of a lack of supply.
The reason they give is because they are “streamlining” their parts distribution from multiple locations to one giant one.
But the transition hasn’t gone well, Jaguar Land Rover report that the change is to help them meet net zero for carbon. I do wonder if the new process, if it had worked, would have reduced cost! JLR made £435m in quarter one – perhaps they should have had both systems running alone side each other to debug it!
